Episode 44: King of Trios

So, I went to America.

Over the course of four days, I saw one TNA Impact taping and then all three nights of CHIKARA’s King of Trios. This episode is a collection of post-show recordings with Danielle Matheson, Chris Sims, Kyle Starks and Gavin Jasper. One of them was done in a Waffle House.

Easily the greatest weekend of my life. Thank you to everyone that made it so very special.

Episode 42: TNA Roster Review

In the wake of the incredibly popular WWE Roster Reviews from the past few weeks, we’re carrying on the tradition by focusing on TNA and the Impact Wrestling roster.

I’m joined by one my best buds, Danielle Matheson, as she goes through the roster assigning grades, and in some cases making up new grades from scratch. Meanwhile, I just try and guess what everyone’s nickname is, and wonder when TNA became slash-fic.

Episode 19: Heinekenrana

HeinekenranaIn perhaps the most informal and loose Have A Nice Day yet, I’m joined by one-half of Drop Toehold, and good friend, Heinekenrana who stops by for a chat that goes from the importance of wrestling that you can show to your children, to the darker side of wrestling fandom (AKA “The Shield” tag on Tumblr).

Episode 9: Danielle Matheson

Danielle-MathesonThis week I’m joined by WithLeather and The Mandible Claw’s Danielle Matheson to chat about shoe retail, The Happy Mondays, and why my friend James sucks. Oh yeah, and wrestling, that’s why we’re here, right?

This week’s episode also features my tale of getting starstruck after meeting Chuck Taylor, how not to be a dickhead wrestling fan, and the enduring brilliance of The Submission Squad.

Episode 6: Matthew Gibbon

Matthew-GibbonIt only took six weeks to get around to chatting to one of my very best friends, Matthew Gibbon. In true Gibbo style, it’s kinda of antagonistic but in an odd, loving way.

This week, we’re talking about what it was like to come into wrestling just after the Attitude Era, the prevelance of formulaic matches in modern mainstream wrestling, and it wouldn’t be a chat between myself and Gibbo without some sort of bet or challenge being agreed upon by the end.

Episode 5: Matthew Beswick

BezFive weeks of this already, just look how the time flies. I say it every time, but this week I am joined by one of my very best friends. He’s a man I have enjoyed countless wrestling shows with, both live and sat in a basement at 1am, surrounded by like-minded fellows, the one and only, Matthew Beswick. We talk about the greatness of Chris Jericho, the underappreciated Attitude Era mid-card, and I detail my plans to save the career of Curtis Axel. Yes, I am that mad.
