Episode 13: Matt D. Wilson

Matt-D-WilsonAuthor and expert in super-villainy, Matt Wilson joins me this week to talk about his time growing up in *woo* Flair Country, his brother’s unique method of booking shows with action figures and the importance of production values in professional wrestling.

And of course, a good portion of the show is spent talking about the link between “heels” and supervillains” and who is the best bad guy at the moment?

Spoiler alert: It’s Bo.

You can stream the show on Libsyn, or press play on that handy little button. We’re now on iTunes, so if you want to go through and subscribe/review, that’d be lovely

You can find everything about Matt at his about.me page, but I’m gonna include some links to specific stuff.

The Supervillain Handbook and The Supervillain Field Manual are both available on Amazon.

War Rocket Ajax is genuinely my favourite podcast, so if my word is worth anything, you should check it out. Movie Fighters is a ton of fun as well, especially the wrestling movie season.

Copernicus Jones: Robot Detective #1 comes out at the end of the month through Monkeybrain Comics.

In between episodes, check out Have A Nice Day on Tumblr, where I’ll be posting videos, pictures and quotes to do with the week’s episode.

You can follow me on Twitter, @KingImpulse, which is my personal account where I actually tweet about wrestling, pop music and comic books.

If you’ve got an idea for a show, or have something you’d like to talk about on the show, just reach out and we’ll chat. You can email me anytime.

I wrote a thing! It’s about how awesome The American Badass is when your ten years old and if Santino Marella was doing the exact same thing but in Chikara, he’d be the internet’s favourite thing ever. Check out The Atomic Elbow #8 for the article which made Chris Sims say “I wish that had gone on ten more pages.”
